NPHA Executive Director Visits Mpox Treatment Centers, Reaffirms Commitment to Public Health
In a continued effort to strengthen healthcare delivery and support frontline medical workers, the Executive Director of the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), Prof. Foday Sahr, visited three Mpox treatment centers on Saturday March 15, 2025. He was accompanied by Dr. Jalloh, the Incident Manager for Mpox and Rachael Mimi Kuyembeh, the Agency’s Public Relations Coordinator.

The team inspected facilities at Kingtom Police Hospital, 34 Military Hospital and Jui Chinese Hospital, engaging with patients and healthcare workers. The visit aimed to foster collaboration, assess healthcare challenges and provide reassurance to both patients and medical professionals.

During the tour, Prof. Foday Sahr commended the unwavering dedication of medical staff, acknowledging their efforts in providing exceptional care despite the challenges posed by the outbreak. He urged them to maintain high standards in patient management, stating, "Your hard work does not go unnoticed. You are making a real difference in the lives of many and your dedication is commendable."

Addressing patients, Prof. Foday Sahr reassured them of the Government’s steadfast support, emphasizing that resources are being allocated to ensure their full recovery. He encouraged them to follow prescribed treatments and medical advice, stating, "Your health is our priority. Please adhere to your treatment plans and communicate openly with healthcare providers."

The visit also provided an opportunity for medical staff to raise concerns about their challenges in combating Mpox. Prof. Foday Sahr actively listened and assured them that their issues would be addressed promptly. "Your input is vita, and I will personally ensure that the necessary steps are taken to meet your needs," he affirmed.

This initiative highlights the NPHA’s commitment to public health, boosting morale among patients and medical teams. By engaging with healthcare professionals and addressing their concerns, the Agency reinforces confidence in the health system and ensures continuous improvements in service delivery.

Before concluding the visit, Prof. Foday Sahr expressed gratitude to the healthcare teams for their tireless efforts. He encouraged them to continue their work with passion and resilience, affirming, "Together, we can overcome this challenge and pave the way for a healthier future for everyone."
