Africell Sierra Leone Unveils Ramadan Show 'Na Yu Get' with Le500, 000 in Cash Prizes
By Alvin Lansana Kargbo

In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, Africell Sierra Leone has officially launched its annual Ramadan Show, Na Yu Get, offering a total of Le500, 000 in cash prizes to subscribers across the country.

The launch event took place at Africell’s headquarters on 1 Pivot Street, Wilberforce Village in Freetown, where company executives reaffirmed their commitment to rewarding customers and fostering the spirit of generosity during Ramadan.

Speaking at the launch, Nancy Toure, Africell's Event and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager, outlined the promotional mechanics. She explained that subscribers can dial *777# or send an empty message to 777 for just NLe1 to automatically qualify for daily draws. The amount spent will be credited back as onet credit, which must be used before midnight.

She further stated that the more subscribers engage with 777, the higher their chances of winning. Additionally, customers who purchase airtime or data using AfriMoney will receive double chances for each transaction. Non-Africell users can also participate by purchasing a new Africell SIM card, thereby qualifying for the draws and standing a chance to win substantial cash prizes.

Africell’s Media Manager, Abdul Karim Sesay, described the initiative as a continuation of the company's tradition of bringing excitement and education to subscribers during Ramadan. He emphasized that this year’s edition promises to be even more engaging, reflecting Africell’s dedication to giving back to society.

Joe Abass Bangura, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Africell, highlighted the company’s long-standing tradition of celebrating major occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas and Ramadan. He noted that the 2025 edition of Na Yu Get holds special significance as it coincides with Africell’s 20th anniversary in Sierra Leone and 25 years of operation in Africa.

“The company is making this year’s Ramadan extra special. We are also celebrating subscribers who have remained loyal to Africell for 20 years,” Joe Abass Bangura stated, adding that the promotion will positively impact lives and bring joy to many households.

Africell’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Kamanda Koroma, provided details on how customers can take part in the Ramadan Show. He announced that Na Yu Get will be aired live every weekday from 8 PM to 9 PM on AYV TV, Africell’s Facebook page, Afriradio and major radio stations nationwide.

It must be underscored that each day, ten lucky winners will be rewarded and customers can participate by:

- Dialing 777# or calling 777

- Purchasing and registering a new Africell SIM card

- Buying airtime through Afrimoney

Further enhancing the spirit of giving, Afrimoney’s Director of Communication and Marketing, John Konteh, announced a massive rice giveaway to support subscribers during Ramadan. Afrimoney will distribute five cups of rice to 20,000 people across the country through two designated trucks—one in Freetown and another in the provinces.

“To benefit, customers simply need to buy a Ramadan bundle for Le10 and dial 1613*6#,” John Konteh explained. Additionally, subscribers who claim their rice package will receive airtime, data and SMS bonuses.

John Konteh also encouraged Africell users to take advantage of a 10% cashback offer on any ESDA recharge made between the 1st and 10th of every month.

The first episode of Na Yu Get is scheduled to air this Monday, March 3, 2025, marking the beginning of a month-long celebration filled with excitement, rewards and community engagement.

With Africell’s continued commitment to innovation and social impact, this year’s Ramadan Show promises to be a memorable experience, reinforcing the company’s role as a leading telecommunications provider in Sierra Leone.
